This is NOT a wool product becuase the magnetic therapy works best as close to the body as possible, without layers in between. A cushioned layer of cotton surrounds the underlay, and can be removed for washing. The inner core should never be washed, as the magnets may become entangled and washing makes the magnets less effective. The convolute base is very thick such as used in top range posture pedic beds. The Australian Made Magnetic Underlay is placed under the sheet in your bed with the magnets facing up toward the body and the tag under your pillow. You will never feel the magnets as they are sewn within the core valleys.
