What Does GSM Stand For and Why Are Some Underlays More Expensive Than Others?

GSM stands for Grams Per Square Meter. The higher the grams the higher the quality and thickness, similar to a thread count in bed sheets. Many companies do not let consumers know as they sell an inferior quality underlay, perhaps between 300-500 gsm.
