We all know we need to sleep properly but did you know we actually spend an average of 227,486 hours tucked up in bed - or in other words if you sleep an average 8 hours a night, that's one third of our lives sleeping! Studies suggest REM even helps developing brains mature. Statistics show that seventeen hours of sustained wakefulness leads to a decrease in work performance which is equivalent to a blood alcohol level reading of 0.05%! We can not stress how much sleep affects our life and how we all deserve to sleep as soundly as possible. In fact a lack of sleep may even suppress the immune system and may be a contributing factor to clinical depression.
