Ultrafresh also guards against control of dust mites, which faeces have been recognised as triggers of asthma and respiratory ailments. In 1990, the International Wool Secretariat conducted a study on the treatments against dust mites. A range of treatments were tested and UltraFresh came out with the most successful results. The untreated wool sample contained 50,000 dust mites, but after treatment with UltraFresh only 262 remained. This proved the wool treated with Ultafresh was 99% effective in reducing and controlling dust mites. A similar study on wool was conducted in 1996, at Queen Univerity Canada, which indicated that after treatment with UltraFresh no dust mites remained whereas the untreated wool sample had almost 15,000 dust mites.
